Bio: In my research, I concentrate on the Tokugawa period (1600–1868). My main interests are the fields of gender, economic thought, medical history, and network studies
of digital tools.
In teaching, I implement in relevant courses the innovative Reacting-to-the-Past-Pedagogy, and more recently digital humanities in the classroom.
Since 2014 I am an editor of Monumenta Nipponica.
