תקציר המחקר: The topic of my dissertation is “Nuptial Symbolism at Key Moments of Salvation History according to Second Temple Writings, the New Testament, and Rabbinical Literature” under the direction of Prof. Israel Yuval and Prof. Justin Taylor. In my dissertation I explore how ancient Jews viewed the covenant between God and His people as a marriage spanning all of salvation history from creation and the Garden of Eden through the revelation at Mount Sinai, Israel’s worship in the Jerusalem Temple, and to the eschatological end of days. I then examine how the first Christians adopted this motif and applied it to the relationship between Christ and the Church. This is an important study to help us understand the interaction between Jews in Christian in the late Second Temple and early rabbinical periods.
